The life most want to live, at any age, includes vacations, hikes, playing around with friends and kids, and the ability to carry groceries up and down stairs, pick up a bag of dog food off the floor, get yourself off the floor, and put luggage in an overhead bin among other things that may interest you or are required of you. I have worked with elderly who have never worked out before and professional athletes from many different sports. They key to success with anyone’s fitness is figuring applying methods in the right context. With the basics of fitness every human being needs to live a full and happy life at the forefront, we will get an image of the person you want to be, what level of fitness that requires, and work towards any specific goals or aspirations you have. Through teaching you the MovementLink Method, using movement screens, mobility exercises, video analysis, and workouts centered around functional exercises, I will help you build a foundation of fitness that allow you to do anything you want to do with your life.

Exercise is just one piece of the puzzle, but 95% of diets fail within 3 years!!! Don’t worry, the reason 95% of diets fail is because they are based off of the expert model: An expert gives you all the nutrition information and then you are left alone to follow through with little to no support. When 95% of people fail, people blame themselves AND the experts blame them too! They think they don’t have enough will power, aren’t strong enough mentally, or simply take an easy road blaming genetics. The reality is that it is not the person who failed, but the expert who failed the person. The Expert Model simply does not work.

The reason my MOMENTUM Results program has so much success, is that I am a coach. It seems like a lot to take on at once to start with both programs at the same time. Is it OK to just start with personal training or the MOMENTUM program?
Yes, it is OK to start with just one or the other, but what most people find surprising is how that method is actually harder. There are many inter-related aspects of lifestyle that we will leverage to work together to make things easier and more impactful. For one example of how workouts and nutrition work together, managing blood sugar and re-sensitizing ourselves to insulin is extremely important for long-term health and helping people get the results they are looking for. After a workout, your body is more sensitive to insulin, so your pancreas does not need to secrete as much for your cells to respond appropriately. Over time, this aspect of meals after your workout sum to have an incredible impact on your results. For another example that goes the other direction, your blood sugar and inflammation levels are highly correlated to your energy and motivation, so trying to get yourself motivated and energized to work out is much harder on a crappy, processed food diet with tons of refined carbohydrates. Each additional aspect we address may come with a new habit, but it also comes with a snowballing effect of supporting all the other habits.

Where do these sessions take place?
5206 Eilers Ave, Austin, TX 78751. I am a founder and owner of this gym that opened in 2012. We will have a private training/meeting room and a full gym at our disposal. I also do sessions virtually via Zoom for those not in Austin, TX and occasionally will take on clients at their home or a local park depending on the situation.

What does a typical weekly schedule look like?
We will meet 4 days a week on a schedule that works best for both of us. Three of the meetings will be 1-hour personal training sessions and the other meeting will be a 1-2-hour MOMENTUM meeting. Don’t worry, 2-hours sounds like a long time, but the time flies once we get rolling! Depending on your fitness level and goals, there may be additional workouts you can do at home, but for most, working out 3 days a week is a great place to start.
